MISSION LINKS

 The Faith Promise

The new REACH Commitment card is, in reality, a Faith-Promise Card. The monetary goal for this year’s Global Outreach Conference is $75,000 in addition to church-budgeted missions support for World Outreach. We urge every Christian to earnestly pray about what God would have you trust Him to provide.

Note these three things about a Faith-Promise: (1) It is between you and God (not a commitment or pledge to the church);     (2) It is over and above regular tithes and offerings; (3) It is a faith commitment (beyond what you can tangibly see) to trust God to supply.

Once we make such a commitment, we can expect God to supply according to our faith. He will supply through many usual and/or unusual ways. Our responsibility is to be faithful to give it as He provides it. And God delights in supplying to fulfill His greatest desire: the evangelization of the world!

It is our firm belief that a spiritual dynamic occurs when local churches become personally involved in the Great Commission. Our desire is to facilitate such an involvement.”

Where Does our Money Go?

When Desmond and Mayer’s parents, or any other person at TDF, gives $10 in our offerings, $1 of that offering goes all around the world. It first makes a stop right here in Nashville, near Nolensville Road, to reach out to Omar’s Kurdish family. It then takes a quick flight to visit Isabella in Quito, Ecuador. She is an orphan and gets special love and attention from our missionaries in her city. Once the dollar stops off in Ivory Coast to teach Leone’s family how to grow healthy vegetables and purify his family’s drinking water, it lands in North Africa.
The dollar in North Africa is used to reach Muslim children and immigrants in southern Spain and France. Ahmed and Fatima have never heard the name of Christ or felt His amazing love for them, but our missionaries are changing that. As our dollar from TDF reaches Madrid, it touches Casimiro’s family that has been hit hard by tough economic times like the rest of the world. As the sun fades in the west, our TDF dollar makes one last stop in Mongolia. Kushi’s family will learn English at the university from Christians who will share their story of Christ after class to all who want to listen.
This trip has made our TDF $1 very tired. In the midst of floods and down sizing, your faithfulness in giving to The Donelson Fellowship continues to help our missionary families represent your family all around the world. THANKS!

WHO ARE THE NATIONS AMONG US?

We could talk about the largest Kurdish population in the world outside of Kurdistan who live in Nashville. We could also talk about the large refugee population that comes to Nashville every day because of the work of World Relief or the countless numbers of immigrants who arrive on a weekly basis. Refugees are in Nashville because their country is being torn by civil war, famine or political unrest. Immigrants come to Nashville, for the same reason our ancestors came to America. They want a better life for their families.
Who are the "nations" at TDF? "A" and her family became members of our church just recently. She fits into the immigrant category of nations. She wants to someday return to her country and do mission work among the children of her Central American country. "J" became a member of our church last year. Her family came to Nashville because of civil war in her home country. Today two grandmothers from TDF help "J" perfect her English, study for the citizenship test and help her reading skills every week. Why? Sure, she wants to become a U.S. citizen, but they want to complete the discipleship book Simple with her and help her grow in her Christian faith!
"A" and "J's" teenagers and children do not look like most TDF teens and kids. So what? We get a chance to prepare these adults, teens and children to be disciples, teachers, nurses and preachers of the gospel of Jesus Christ. They will have access to minister in places that so many of us will never have a chance to minister.
Let's pray that all of our adults, teens and children continue to minister to the "nations among us." These nations may live next door to you, work with you or go to school with you.
